ABOUT US
Community Kids Haven Redan is a childcare and early learning centre situated in-between the Ballarat and Delacombe area, on Skipton St. Our care and teaching approach incorporates the Reggio Emilia philosophy. At the core of this philosophy is an assumption that children form their own personality during the early years of development and that they are endowed with "a hundred languages", through which they can express their ideas. Additionally, we have a strong focus on natural elements and focus on education based around what the child displays interest in to ensure optimum engagement and advancements in their educational voyage in their early learning journey.
Community Kids Haven Redan has a large focus on a state-of-the-art outdoor learning environments and architecturally designed yards. Our meals are prepared freshly daily with a qualified cook in our centre kitchen.

- Nursery: 6 weeks – 2 years
- Toddler: 2 years – 3 years
- Pre Kinder: 3 – 4 years (3 Year Kindergarten offered for children in Redan, Ballarat and surrounding suburbs.)

OUR CENTRE DIRECTOR
Hello families,
I'm Carren, your Centre Director at Community Kids Haven Redan. 
I have 5 children and 14 Grandchildren. I enjoy spending time with my family on weekends, going to the beach, reading and watching speedway.
I have been working in the industry for 20 years, starting as a room leader and working my way up to Centre Director. I enjoy the challenges that come with being a Director but most of all making positive relationships with the children and families that come into our centre daily.

We take sun protection very seriously at Community Kids Haven. Overexposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation causes wrinkles and skin and eye damage, ultimately leading to skin cancer.
UV cannot be seen or felt. It is not like the sun’s light which we see, or the sun’s warmth (infrared radiation) which we feel. Our senses cannot detect UV so it can be damaging without us knowing. There is a huge variation in UV levels across Australia. The UV level is affected by a number of factors including the time of day, time of year, cloud cover, altitude, proximity to the equator, scattering and reflection.
